Update from Mugu, Nepal 3/17

The team is doing great. They saw about 400 patients yesterday. Today they will see about 300. People are walking for 3-4 days to get there. Many people are being helped by our medical team. Some are being brought in on stretchers and there are some really sick people too. They are also coming from the next district over (Jumla). There is minimal to no health care in this area. Update from Mugu, Nepal 3/15 The team finally arrived in Pina Mugu! PRAISE THE LORD!!! They were on the first flight out of nepalgunj this morning. An incredible flight! The 1st flight was the team members and the second flight was the equipment and supplies. Once they landed they began the 2-3 hour trek to the village of Pina where they are now setting up the site for the medical clinic/camp. As of 2:00pm KTM time, they opened the clinic a day early. Hello All Just a quick update- It is 1:30 pm Monday here in the city of Nepalganj Nepal.  We got this far this morning. We left Kathmandu on the way to Mugu Nepal, stopping here to change planes. However, over night Talcha Airport in Gamgadhi Mugu received 5 inches of snow, so they cancelled all flights. We have a pretty nice hotel here and we plan on catching the first flight we can tomorrow, Tuesday, from Nepalganj to the airport in Mugu district of Nepal. 7AM Doha Qatar >>Uneventful so far, Flight from Philly to Doha Qatar was very nice. Not real crowded so we all had a bit of room for the 12 hour flight. On Board the flight now from Doha up to Kathmandu. Roughly a four hour flight then we get our luggage and gear and head to the Hotel. Hoping and praying for clear skies tomorrow morning. Big Outreach to Northwest Nepal

On Saturday March 12th our team leaves the USA for Doha Qatar, connecting onto Kathmandu Nepal. The American side of the team consists of 6 of us here from the Philadelphia area and two people from Harrisburg. Homes Damaged in Earthquake

When the earthquake happened, it damaged the Boys Home.  So much so, they couldn’t go back in. There is still fear it may collapse.  The Girls Home is damaged on the third floor, but the engineers say it is OK, but don’t use the third floor. So for 10 weeks we have been trying to figure out housing for 50 kids. Our manager in Nepal, Padam Tamang, was able to contact a Nepali lady in London who owns a large piece of ground adjacent to our training center. The center is about a 10 minute walk from the boys home. [...]
