We can’t begin to tell you how totally excited we all are to begin broadcasting Gospel Radio in Nepal.
On September 1st, PUMA will air our first Gospel message in Nepali. Our first objective is to use radio towers in the district of Lamjung in Nepal. There are approximately 185,000 people in Lamjung, all are within range of the main tower and repeater towers. I am hoping that we have even 1 percent of the Lamjung population listening as we start. That’s 1,800 listeners (most of these people are Hindus) to the Gospel story, every day, 7 days a week. We’ve asked for the 7PM evening time slot. That would be prime listening time in Lamjung. In time, we expect many many people to tune in each day!
We are certain that word will spread about the program. We are including a lot of worship songs at the beginning and the end of the messages. That will be sure to attract a lot of listeners as Nepali people love music!!
On Saturday and Sunday each week, our half hour broadcast will be in English. We believe this will draw listeners, as many many people desire to speak and understand English.
Here’s a 30 second sound bite of the first broadcast which will be in the Nepali language in the Gospel of John, set for September 1st. (Padam’s translation follows)
